We spent last weekend building a new fence for the pasture, using pressure-treated pine posts and three strands of smooth wire. The ground was rocky in spots, so we had to dig post holes by hand with a clamshell digger, which was slow going. Got the corners braced with angle braces and tension wire, then stretched the wire tight with a come-along and stapled it to the posts. It's not fancy, but it'll keep the cows where they need to be.
